About

American photographer, filmmaker and art director. Born 4 February 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, USA - Died 20 October 2011 in Woodstock, NY, USA.
He produced over 500 album covers, featuring his photographs and graphic designs. Feinstein established a career for himself snapping pictures of Hollywood stars such as Judy Garland and Steve McQueen in the 1960s and 1970s, but he became most famous for his work with the top rock stars of that era.
He shot the memorable album covers for Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" in 1964, for former Beatle George Harrison's 1970 solo release, "All Things Must Pass", and for Janis Joplin's "Pearl" in 1971. He was also responsible for The Rolling Stones' "Beggars Banquet" album artwork, which featured a graffiti-covered toilet.
In 1963, he married Mary Travers; they divorced in 1967. His third wife was Judith Jamison.
