    BBC Wireless Symphony Orchestra

    British orchestra not to be confused with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The Wireless orchestra was much smaller and fulfilled a rather different function, being mainly a kind of large light orchestra, playing small works by classical composers, selections from operas, popular symphonies and accompanying studio opera.
