Russian born musician, arranger and film composer, born May 15, 1902, died June 29, 1999. He came to America on a scholarship to study at the arts division of Carnegie Institute of Technology, and later at the Curtis Institute and Damrosch Institute. A member of the two piano team Gould and Shefter, and became a radio and theatre attraction. Organised own band which performed over radio and made recordings.
