Beto O'Rourke

Robert "Beto" O'Rourke (b. 26 September 1972, El Paso, Texas) is an American politician and former punk rock bassist, the Democratic Party member who served as the US representative for Texas's 16th congressional district in 2013–19 and ran in the 2018 Senate election in Texas. He was a candidate for the presidential nomination in 2020 and the party's nominee in the 2022 Texas gubernatorial election. In his early days, Beto O'Rourke co-founded post-hardcore/emo band [url=https://discogs.com/artist/5402713]Foss[/url] and Western Breed Records indie label with Cedric Bixler-Zavala (of At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta fame), also playing with several other local bands, most notably Fragile Gang, and publishing a weekly indie newspaper, Stanton Street (1999 to 2002) with one of his bandmates, [url=https://discogs.com/artist/729392]Mike Stevens[/url], as the managing editor.
