    Big Fish

Swedish rock band formed in 1988 in Uppsala.

They started as an industrial band influenced by the German 1980s scene but later mixed in several metal-folk music influences. They called their music "medieval machine metal". At first they mostly sang in English, but over time completely switched to Swedish. The first tracks were released by the band themselves and the local label Tango Train Production. During the early 1990s, the band then got a record deal with the small Gothenburg-based Strontium Records, but in 1993–1994 switched to Birdnest Records and debuted there with Sånger ur sten. The change of record label led to many punks opening their eyes to the band. Big Fish disbanded in 1996 when a couple of the members moved from Uppsala. David Giese and Tomas Gustavsson continued in, among other things, Moder Jords Massiva. After reuniting since 2016 for occasional gigs, the band restarted in 2022 and released the new album Kalla Döda Drömmar.
