Big Mouse is an experimental multimedia collective that constructs atmospheres at gatherings, clubs, art spaces and on the web. It began as the sonic side of The Epiphany Project, an early '90s performance art happening. Since the millenium, Big Mouse has been presenting largely in the Mid Atlantic region of the United States. Based on sonic journeys of non beat ambience, Big Mouse creates multisensory environments through the use of sound and visuals, primarily used as texture, though melodic and rhythmic interplay are woven in for good measure. Strategic lighting, constructions, video effects and aroma therapy are used to heighten the mood and messages of the performances. Shows are designed to provoke within a synesthetic environment, using multiple artistic disciplines to promote the ambience.
