Bigg Robb

Once a member of Roger Troutman's funk opus Zapp, Bigg Robb began his career in the late 70's as a child disc jockey in his hometown of Cincinnati Ohio, making friendships with Midnight Star's Reggie Calloway. This led to him being introduced to funk impressario Bootsy Collins and his brother Phelphs "Catfish" Collins. Robb first understudied with the Collins brothers and was a member of the group Micowave.

In 1987 he joined forces with the Troutman family and became a member of the group Zapp, traveling the globe as Roger Troutman's personal assistant. He was featured with Zapp in the HBO appearance "Live From Aruba" as mc and hypeman, as well with the group's recordings including it's re-working of "California Love" after Roger Troutman's death.

Robb continued his position for the next decade. Soul artist Mel Waiters and Malaco Records enlisted Robb to produce for the label, including "Hole In The Wall (Bigg Robb Remix)", and a remake of the Johnny "Guitar" Watson song "A Real Mother For Ya".

Robb began his solo recording career in 1995 with the release of "Cheddar-Cheddar". He has since released over 25 solo albums featuring what he calls Grown Folks Muzic. He has written and produced recordings with Charlie Wilson, Shirley Murdock, Bootsy Collins, Denise Lasalle, The Bar-Kays, Kurtis Blow, Ohio Players' Sugarfoot, The Floaters, UberZone and others. His discography ranges from 12 bar blues to funk, Southern soul and pop.

He is also leader of his own group Bigg Robb & Da Problem Solvas, and has been associated with Thump/Universal Records, Warner Brothers Records and Jenner Music Group, producing music recordings and directing various music videos.
