Married to singer/songwriter Demetriss Tapp (later Demetriss Tubert).

He was scriptwriter for TV series Ozark Jubilee (1959-1960) one of America’s first network Country TV shows.
Tubert won the 1978 CMA Founding President’s Award for his years of service to the organization. In addition, he was a founding member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), and helped to establish the music business program at Belmont University in Nashville.
