Cezar Mateus

Cezar Mateus (b. 1961, Bucharest, Romania) is an American luthier specializing in making lutes, archlutes, theorbos, vihuelas, Baroque guitars, and other related stringed instruments from the 18th century and earlier; he lives and works in Princeton, New Jersey. Mateus began playing classical guitar as a teenager. In 1980, he permanently relocated to the United States; Cezar further studied classical guitar and composition at California Institute Of The Arts and California Institute Of The Arts.
