Chandra Lacombe's music reflects his long spiritual journey. Born in Brasilia, Brazil, Lacombe gained world prominence by expanding the use of the kalimba, an African instrument central to his work. While the Kalimba is originally played with the thumbs and has a melodic function, Lacombe uses the index and middle fingers to explore harmonic textures, making it a lap piano with unusual tones. Lacombe's musical legacy mirrors both his Brazilian roots and his connection with India (Sanatana Dharma and Kriya Yoga) and the world. His repertoire contains songs in Portuguese, English and Sanskrit, and his albums, recorded both in Brazil and Europe, reflect his different musical phases and feature musicians and producers from various countries.
