    Charlotte Berg

Swedish folk music singer, backing vocalist and music teacher based in Stockholm, born on May 6, 1972 in Grötlingbo, Gotland.

Berg was also raised in Grötlingbo on the island Gotland. After finishing the school on Swedish gymnasium level there on the island, she moved to Skåne and studied jazz for two years at 'Fridhems Jazzlinje' at Fridhems Folkhögskola in Svalöv.

In 1994, Berg moved to Stockholm where she started the band Charlie's Magazine and toured with them. After having periods of headaches and losing almost all hearing on one ear in the late 1990s, she was finally diagnosed with a benign brain tumour. To get rid of her headaches and longer periods of tiredness, the tumour was removed by a surgeon but her hearing on one ear couldn't be saved after that.

After the operation, Berg's first listenening to all music now only in mono really would affect her deeply, from then and thereafter, because her first listening to recorded music was the title track of [m43964], which also would give her the good spirit for music back for the coming five years.

After having gone through a life crisis backlash about five years after the operation, Berg released her first solo album in 2010.

Besides being a singer in bands or groups, she also has a higher music education from Kungliga Musikhögskolan I Stockholm and has, in periods for example, worked as a music teacher on Swedish gymnasium level.
