British musician, producer, artist manager.
Born: 18 December 1938 in Heaton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, UK.
Died: 17 July 1996 (of an aortic aneurysm at Newcastle General Hospital) in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, UK (aged 57).
Best known for his musician work as bassist with group The Animals. Later well known for his management of Jimi Hendrix, band Slade, and other business activities.
In 1979 he bought I.B.C. Studios at 35 Portland Place, London, renaming it I.B.C. Studios, from where he managed music publishing (I.B.C. Studios) and production (I.B.C. Studios) and his own labels, including I.B.C. Studios, I.B.C. Studios, and "Six Of The Best". The location also contained the mastering suite of George Peckham (aka "Porky"). After four years of operation, Chandler sold Portland Studios to businessman Don Arden (father of Sharon Osbourne and father-in-law of Ozzy Osbourne) in 1983.
Chandler had one son, Steffan, by his first marriage. He then married Madeleine Stringer ("Miss UK" 1977), by whom he had a son, Alex, and two daughters, Elizabeth & Katherine.
