Christopher Brooke

Christopher spent most of his youth creating music. As well as working his way through the piano grades, he played guitar, bass and drums in various rock, punk, jazz, swing and dixieland bands. His heterogeneous listening habits, and diverse performing experience provided a solid musical grounding. Bass guitar emerged as his preferred instrument, but over the years, with age and experience, he has come to realise that not everything sounds better with a slap bass solo… Christopher started his career in music production as an editor and assistant engineer at Chandos Records in 2000, after graduating from the University of Surrey's Tonmeister degree course. He went on to spend several years working as a freelance music producer, classical editor and media composer, before joining Audio Network, where he is now their senior mastering engineer. As a composer his interests are pretty varied, but he has particularly enjoyed writing with a collection of restored old instruments inherited from his wife's grandfather. This guitar, mandolin and banjo can be heard on many of his recent tunes.
