Mexican musician, composer and guitarist, actor. He was born in the port of Veracruz on July 31, 1910 and died in Mexico City on January 21, 1984. From a young age he moved to Mexico City where he later studied commerce. He began his guitar career in 1930, accompanying tango singer Mario del Valle in a tent-theater. Representative of the bohemian, he was considered one of the best guitarists in Mexico. He started in the cinema in 1934. He took part in the movie Vagabunda and others. He alternated for seven years with Antonio Bibriesca, David Moreno and Ramón Donadio in the television series Guitarras and for 10 years he conducted the radio series Una voz y una guitar en el XEW. As a composer he began in 1936 with the song "Compasión", which was followed by great successes: "Todavía No Me Muero" (interpretation by María Victoria), "Ocaso" Yo Te Quise", "Albricias" (interpretation by Ana María González), "Luto En El Alma", "Quiero", "Ojos Traviesos", "Heridas De Amor", and "Quiéreme". His most famous song is "Contigo" (interpretation of Los Panchos), composed in 1949. Among his performers, Pedro Infante and Antonio Badú stood out.
