Clement Tervalon

Clement Tervalon ( November 13, 1915 - November 2, 1989 , New Orleans ) was an American dixieland musician who played trombone and double bass .
Tervalon had played in several bands, with which he also made recordings. In the 1940s and 1950s. He played in the Paddock with Octave Crosby and as a member of the marching band the Young Tuxedo Brass Band , where he played for many years. In 1958 and 1983 recordings of this band with Tervalon on trombone were released. He also played in the second version of the Onward Brass Band , founded by drummer Paul Barbarin . In his career he also worked with many dixieland , ragtime and rhythm & blues musicians: recordings of this have also been released. He played and recorded with Roy Brown (1940s and 50s), George Lewis , drummer Freddie Kohlman , Sweet Emma Barrett (around 1958), Lars Edegran's ragtime band (second half of the 1960s) and, in the 1980s, the Excelsior Brass Band , the band of Chester Zardis and the Original Camelia Jazz Band . Tervalon also occasionally had a band of his own, but as a leader he recorded only one record, including Kohlman and Alvin Alcorn , in 1973.
