Clive "Jesus Christ" Archer

Before Venom, Archer sang in the band Oberon in 1979 and joined future Venom colleagues Mantas and Abaddon in the cover band Guillotine in 1980.

One day Clive Archer failed to turn up to a Venom rehearsal. He was apparently disgruntled because his back garden had been destroyed – it had been used as testing ground for Venom’s pyrotechnics. Cronos stated that: “Clive was painting his face like some bands do nowadays,” referring to the corpse paint of later day black metal bands.
