Colin Browne

UK keyboardist, guitarist, bassist from South London (b. June-1952). Performed his first paid gig at the age of 14 with a band called Our Blue Haze, a psychedelic blues band. At 17 years old he was playing with Andy Summers in Toerag, who were regulars at The Bridge in Wandsworth in the early seventies. In 1975 he joined schoolmate Kid Strange in a band called Great White Idiot, shortly before they evolved into proto-punk band the Doctors Of Madness. Colin made his first live appearance with Barclay James Harvest in January 1980 and was a regular guest on most BJH tours from 1980 to 1997. After the split of the band, he became a full member of BJH Featuring Les Holroyd. He has also found time in between BJH engagements to work with Kate Bush, the Climax Blues Band and Ruby Turner. He lives in Market Drayton, where he runs the Ad Lib recording and rehearsal studio, and plays regular local gigs.
