Copia Doble Systema

Copia Doble Systema was founded by norwegian dj and musician Copyflex in 2009, and was joined by danish jungle and crunk producer Jens Fokking shortly thereafter. The band, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, was heavily influenced by the digital cumbia that fused electronic music and local styles of South American music.

They started to produce and do shows in larger and smaller constellations, sometimes as a duo, and maxing it with an orchestra of 11 people. Now they're doing shows all over the world with different collaborators. The range of venues goes from squats, block parties and glitzy clubs in Cairo, over major festivals to the Royal Library in Copenhagen. So far Copia Doble Systema has managed to play countless indoor and outdoor events in Denmark, some of the best ones being the Distortion Festival (Copenhagen), Notting Hill Carnival, Roskilde Festival, Fusion Festival and RAW. They have also been overseas, playing odd locations like Hanoi, Rio, Caracas, Stavanger, Malmö, Wales and the Faroese Islands.

The debut EP 'Cumbia Colegiala', came out on Urban World Records spring 2010, the cover of the classic Colegiala became an instant hit in the emerging tropical music scene. Since then they have releases Revolution EP and Suelta La Voz EP, featuring remixes by heavyweights like Schlachthofbronx, Maga Bo, Toy Selectah, Thornato, Javier Estrada, Maffi and Joelito to name a few. The EP's has received airplay and mixtape love in BBC's Diplo And Friends, Flosstradamus mixes and many other outlets.

Copia Doble Systema is now getting support from major players like Diplo (Mad Decent, Major Lazer), Gilles Peterson (BBC), El Hijo De La Cumbia (Bersa Discos), Flosstradamus, Dj Sinden (Grizzly, Domino, KissFM), Toy Selektah (Mad Decent), Villa Diamante (ZZK) and Schlachthofbronx (Man Recordings, Disco B) amongst others.

We are also very proud to have worked and played with great artists such as Diplo, The Very Best, Fauna, El Hijo De La Cumbia, Munchi, Filastine, Chancha Via Circuito, Milangeles, Douster, Dj Mouse, Boody B, El Remolon, Dj Hvad, System, Mo Fire, dj/Rupture, MAFFI, Uproot Andy, Schlachthofbronx and many more.
