Cradle Of Spoil

Cradle Of Spoil is a German dark wave / electro band from Giessen (Hessen), originally founded in 1986 under the name Chrome a. Fashion by Achim Treder and George Liscevic. After several demo releases, the project was renamed Cradle Of Spoil in 1990.

The band released its first official single “Your Brain’s On The Wall / The Law” in 1990, followed by the debut album “Tausend Jahre” (1994) on Celtic Circle Productions. Further releases include the EP “Solar Eclipse” (1995), the album “Die Macht des Schweigens” (2003), “Seelenleben” (2005, limited edition), and “…und der Tanz beginnt von vorn” (2009, Batleth Records).

Musically, Cradle Of Spoil combines dark wave, synthpop and EBM elements with melancholic melodies and both German and English lyrics. Throughout its history, the band has undergone several lineup changes, particularly in vocal roles, while Treder and Liscevic have remained the core creative members.

Since the 2010s, parts of the catalogue have been reissued digitally, including anniversary editions of earlier works. Cradle Of Spoil is regarded as a long-running underground act within the German dark wave scene, with a small but dedicated fan base.
