The Jackson Mississippi based Crooked Lettaz were David Banner’s old group before he was the David Banner, alongside the very skilled Kamikaze. Their debut LP "Grey Skies" is a sometimes paranoid, sometimes poignant, but always trill, look at racial and socioeconomic politics. It’s a logical successor to Goodie Mob’s "Soul Food", one of the first and few down south rap records to dive face first into the subjects.
