D.O.P.E. is an acronym for 'Defenders Of the Planet Earth'. Owners of Rugged Vinyl Records. Prior to that Ray Stanley worked at Passion records down in the basement of Mash (Clothing) shop on Oxford Street, London, and Ben James worked for the distributors, Rugged Vinyl Records.
