Dagobert Sondervan

Born in 1970, Dagobert Sondervan aka Dago aka Sondervan is a jazz & electronics musician and live coder living in Antwerp, Belgium. He has also designed his own sleeves by programming a pen plotter. Trained at the Antwerp Jazz Studio (drums, percussion), he began DJ-ing, mainly spinning jungle and electronics, and was a resident DJ at Fuse and at Food, two famous Belgian clubs. He has produced a lot of experimental electronic music under the names of Anton Price and Bohr Bug but has also sung à la Chet Baker and has toured with Randy Newman covers as part of his Little Criminals project. He has worked as a live drummer and as a session player for bands like Daan, Styrofoam, Think of One, Trixie Whitley, Buscemi, Nive Nielsen, Hormonia or Monguito (with Mauro Pawlowski) ... He has playd minor acting roles and has provided music for theatre productions (Het Paleis & Laika), working with Stijn Cole. A couple of years ago he founded the Dago Sondervan Quintet with himself on drums & vocals, Jon Birdsong on cornet, Yannick Peeters on double-bass, Antoon Offeciers on piano and Eric Morel on saxophone. More recently he has been performing as a live coder, often working with Kasper Jordaens, and collaborating with the Namid jazz quartet in the Namid & Sondervan quintet (one album released, another to be released in 2022). Most recently he has been working with Andrew Claes as Bot Bop, performing at Bozar in Brussels (2020-09-13) and at Sonar's AI and Music S+T+ARTS Festival in Barcelona (2021-10-28). He has also joined the teaching staff at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.
