    He obtained a First Prize in trombone and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Toulouse in 1982. He also obtained a First Prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur De Musique Et De Danse De Paris. He holds a certificate of aptitude for the functions of trombone teacher. He is currently professor of trombone at the Conservatoire de Toulouse and professor of sackbutt at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. In 1981, he joined Les Sacqueboutiers de Toulouse when he was only 15 years old.
