African-American music entrepreneur and publisher, born 1936 in Mississippi, died 7 October 2012 in Los Angeles, California, United States. He discovered reggae legend Bob Marley in Kingston in 1967 and signed him to his publishing company, Cayman Music. He co-owned Cayman Music Records with Johnny Nash and producer Arthur Jenkins, and their initials formed its logo. He also managed Paul Anka. Father of model/singer Anansa and former husband of singer/supermodel Beverly Johnson.
