    His musical background is typically Congolese. He made his debut in song in 1976, in small groups in a populous district of Kinshasa. His models were called, at the time, Papa Wemba, [a= M'Vula N'Yoka Longo], Gina Efonge and Evoloko Jocker, four singers from the Zaïko group of the 1970s. But on the singing side, the one with which he identifies most is Tabu Ley Rochereau.
