Australian calypso, mento, Jamaican shuffle and ska singer, songwriter and guitarist, born 15 June 1935, Richmond, Victoria, Australia - died April 2024.
In 1958, his band The Caribs accepted an offer to become the house band at the Glass Bucket Club in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1959, The Caribs became the first studio band for Island Records. The Caribs were also employed as the studio band for Federal Records (3). In 1968, Sindrey emigrated to the US, where he worked as a solo artist.
