Distant Sun

Their first 6-song EP Sunless Citadel was released in 2012 by Sublimity Records. It was then a solo project of a guitarist/vocalist Alexey Markov (also Shadow Host, Starsoup) with guest musicians from the Moscow metal scene. The music was mostly influenced by the German metal bands Rage, Blind Guardian and Iron Savior.

For the first album Dark Matter (released in May 2015) Alexey recruited one of the best Ukrainian drummers Erland Sivolapov (nicknamed "Death Machine", endorsed by Paiste, Premier and Vater) and bassist Artem Molodtsov, who also took a big part in composing the songs.

Their second full-length album will appear in late November 2016 digitally, and the Digipak CD will come out in December via Sublimity Records. Joining their European melodic traditions with American aggression, lyrically the band dives into the famous sci-fi and fantasy sagas of Frank Herbert's Dune, J.R.R.Martin's A Game of Thrones, D&D and Magic: The Gathering.

From their very first release, the guys add a healthy load of thrash to their power metal. Will appeal to the fans of Megadeth, Annihilator, Iced Earth and Blind Guardian.
