Ditte Andersson

Swedish folk musician, born November 25, 1954 in Uppsala. She has been a riksspelman on nyckelharpa since 1980 when she received her Zornmärket in silver "for sonorous key harp playing of upland songs". Andersson became a bachelor of philosophy in 1976 and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in 1982. From 1979 she has been a freelance folk musician, with violin, nyckelharpa and vocals. She has toured under the auspices of Rikskonserter and participated in folk music festivals in the UK, among other places.
