About

American singer, born on October 31, 1946 in Lancaster (South Carolina). As a young child (aged 6) he became musically active as a gospel singer. He moved to New York aged 13 as part of a tour, and recorded first in 1965 as "Little Dooley".

In 1972, Dooley made his first record for the Philly based R&B label North Bay records, the single was called '(It's Got To Be) Now Or Never' and was produced by Bobby Martin.

In 1975, Dooley met up with his manager, writer and producer, Sonny Casella and they released "Bump Me Bay Pt1." as a single, which reached #80 in the Billboard chart March 22nd, 1975. The only album was released later that year, and a track from it, "Let me be the number one (of your life) reached #44 in the UK Charts on 1/31/76.

Both singles also charted in the Netherlands, with Let me be the number one reaching #4 in the Tipparade.

There are few cover versions remixes, or samples of Silverspoons music, Bump Me Baby was covered later in 1975 by Rudy Genasky as a single and album track [r12479456]. His 1978 single, Mr Deluxe Part 1 & 2 has been remixed and is included on [m1276950].
