Downwell

Downwell is the electronic music project of Giorgi Kolbaia, a producer, DJ, and live performer from Tbilisi, Georgia, and a resident of KHIDI club.
Rooted in the intersection of EBM and techno, the project explores a raw and often introspective sound, shaped by personal experience and an experimental approach to structure.

The debut EP, "I See Death in Your Eyes," released via Oraculo Records (Spain), introduced the project's direction. This was followed by contributions to various compilations on several labels.

The follow-up EP, "Oppression Index," appeared on X-IMG (run by Sarin) and presented a six-track narrative shaped by political and social realities in Georgia and beyond.

His most recent solo EP, "Relative Strangers," came out on Persephonic Sirens, the imprint run by Ancient Methods. At the same time, he started a collaboration with Mova under the name Initial Light and returned to Oraculo Records with the debut album "40 Degrees In The Air." This joint project is a departure from his solo work and explores diverse styles and sonic textures.
