Eddy De Clercq

About

Eddy De Clercq (Ghent, October 18, 1955), nicknamed EDC, is a Belgian Flemish-Dutch disc-jockey and producer widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Dutch dance culture. When House Music reached The Netherlands in the mid-1980s, it was not popular at first with Dutch DJs. It took an exiled Belgian DJ & club promoter, Eddy de Clercq, to popularise the sound in The Netherlands. In 1999 he received the prestigious Golden Harp from the Buma Culture Foundation for his long career as a DJ & producer. He has made a great contribution to the Dutch electronic and alternative music scene and had a pioneering role in the Dutch dance culture at Amsterdam's Club RoXY, among other venues. He also works since decades as a Freelance HR Consultant.
