She rose to fame in the 1960s with the hit “Faz-me Rir,” which sold around 500,000 copies and remained in the charts for two years. During the same period she received awards including the Troféu Roquette Pinto (Best Newcomer). She appeared on most television programs of the era and earned the nickname "The Legs That Sing".
