    Japanese Kayoukyoku / Enka singer, actor born in Tokyo on 2 September 1954. His mother was a geisha. In 1972, his debut song "雨 (Rain)" became a sudden big hit. In the same year, he won with this song the 14th Japan Record Awards / Newcomer Award, Shinjuku Music Festival / Silver Award, 3rd Japan Nippon Kayou Grand Prize, Broadcast Music Newcomer Award. In 2008 he formed a unit with his comedian friend and participated a comedy contest.
