About

Swedish former pop singer (originally Bodil Eleonora Olsson), born June 7, 1948 in Nacka.

She began a career as a singer in 1968, after Lennart Hegland in The Hep Stars attracted her to audition for the record company Olgas Bengt Palmers and Åke Gerhard. As a trained men's and women's tailor, she had then made stage clothes for various artists - including for Hep Stars. An employee at the record company suggested the artist name Eleanor Bodel.

As an artist on her own, she became known for songs such as "I Wish It Was Always Summer" (Carole King's hit "It Might As Well Rain Until September") and "One Way Ticket", the latter became her real breakthrough song. Her career as an artist lasted for 7-8 years (alternatively until 1972), and she participated in folk park tours with, among others, Tommy Körberg and Janne Önnerud.

In 1976, Bodel moved to Ångermanland and settled in Nordmaling, where she still lives. She and her sister bought a restaurant business that she ran for fifteen years. In addition to resuming studies, she was also a partner in a treatment home for addicts.
