Elephant Talk

8 piece percussive-funk band formed in Canberra around 1987 by vocalist Georgie Zuzak and bassist Paris Pompor with original drummer Ian Blackburn who was later replaced by Aidan D'Adhemar formerly of Western Australian band Martha's Vineyard. Elephant Talk featured a 3-piece horn section made up of French horn, saxophone and the trumpeter from Canberra ska band F-Troop , alongside a guitarist and percussionist. Part of the group decamped to Sydney early in 1991 after the band did a gig a at the University of Sydney Roundhouse, but regrouped with Sydney musicians under a variety of new names including Society. The original drummer, Ian Blackburn, was also in an earlier Canberra band also called Elephant Talk but who were more angular and post-punk in outlook: Elephant Talk.
