German-born British pianist, harpsichordist, producer, and sometime liner notes author (born in Rostock, Germany, 25 March 1931 - died in Yeovil, Somerset, 4 May 2004). His career began with Decca in January 1957. In 1968 he resigned to join Philips to 1991. Son of conductor Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt.
