Contemporary Jazz sextet from Argentina that mixes jazz, Argentinean folk, tango and classical music. One of its members is drummer Daniel Piazzolla, grandson of Astor Piazzolla. The group emerged to the jazz scene in March, 1999 and has been playing and recording since then. Escalandrum earned several local awards and their album "Piazzolla plays Piazzolla" was nominated for the 2011 Latin Grammy's "best instrumental album".
