Escape Act is an alternative rock band from Belfast. The group was formed in April 2006, originally as a 3-piece. That original line up featured Chris Heaney [Vocals & Guitar], Rich Dale [Bass Guitar & Vocals] and Alan Beattie [Drums]. Chris had previously played with Desert Hearts while Rich had played with a multitude of bands including Kismet, The SuperMasters, Ninebar International and Roque Junior. Ross Neely was invited to join the group on guitar, keyboards and vocals in May 2009. In September of that year Michael Sampson replaced Alan Beattie on drums. However, Alan remained involved with the group as graphic designer. The band made its recorded debut in April 2007 with the release of the 'Hot Air' EP. The 3-track collection feature 'Napkins With Nettles', 'Cabin Fever' and 'Corpses Candle'. In June of the following year, the band released 'God Says' as a split 7" single with Tom McShane. This track would later appear on the 'Loosely Based On Fiction' album which was released in November 2008. In 2009, Escape Act returned to the studio with Andy Miller to record a new album. Entitled 'Balance', the album was released in February 2010.
