The Mid-South has forever been home to some of the best rock bands in the country. The city of Memphis is known as the birthplace of rock and roll. "The King" made his home in this city, and, in the past few years, several bands have been inked to major deals, including Island Records' Full Devil Jacket (now known as Wax Box), Primer 55, and gold-selling Saliva, and Wind-Up Records' Breaking Point and Dust for Life. The genre "heavy metal" doesn't quite do the band justice, but neither does "melodic rock." With edgy vocals, a booming rhythm section, and gutsy ripping guitars, the music defies a title. The sound has been described as "amazing" by several veterans in the Memphis local music scene. The music is extremely catchy and radio friendly, but still packs a punch. "We're trying to take the music in every possible direction without straying from our two main goals: to have fun and give the crowd something to jump to," said singer Gary Segars.
