Lithuanian electronic music band formed in city of Klaipėda in 1992 by Mindaugas "Cross" Kazakevičius and Matas Petrikas. In 1995 the duo released their debut album No Time. Hits started rotating on radio and the band started playing shows including those with dance music stars La Bouche, Capella, Plavka and Scooter. In 1996 the second album Atlanta was released. Extensive use of Lithuanian folk motifs received special attention. Exem were nominated at several national awards. Hit single Kuršiai won the Gold Song Award at Radiocentras radio station. In 1997 Exem released another dance music album Stereo. A track from this album titled Africa reached No.1 at Top 40 of national radio station M-1 making Exem the first Lithuanian artist to reach the highest position of this chart. The video of Dar Nevėlu went up to 6th position of German TV channel Viva Top-20. The band received the Best Album of the Year award at the Radiocentras and Bravo awards. Exem performed numerous shows nationwide. In Vilnius Exem performed to the audience of 20,000. Exem broke up in 1997 when Matas left the band. In two years Exem came back with a new member Vilius Ančeris. A professional guitar player influenced the sound with rock and jazz elements. In 2000 followed the release of new album Studio. The band received Bravo award as the Best Dance Act of 2000. Vilius left the band in 2002.
