About

Argentine-Spanish Rock band based in Majorca, active during the first half of the 80s.
Express was a rock group formed in 1981 by Argentine musicians who had recently moved to the island. The band was formed by Ricardo "Ritchie" Benitez (lead vocalist), Carlos Lambertini (guitar and vocals), Carly De Nicolai (Bass and choirs), Eddy De Nicolai (Guitar), Luis Manzotti (Drums) and Adolfo Carasa (Keyboards).

Their music, originally very symphonic, was usually heard in the discotheques of the Island. Later, as a result of their contract with Sapphire, they leaned towards a harder Rock that led them to be opening for Miguel Rios on their Rock and Rios tour and from other important hard rock bands of the moment such as Obus, Baron Rojo and Leño.

In November of 1982 they would enter to record in the studies Maller under the production of Miguel Martorell his first and only disc. This first work titled Express would be published at the beginning of 1983 by the Chapa label and would contain 9 songs. One of them, the one that was its single: night pursuer, would be edited years later in the compilation Chapa history of a label.

The edition of the album in Chapa and the collaboration as support band of other groups of the label gave them the opportunity to participate in the Mazarock of Murcia in 1983 along with Obus, Ñu, Evo, Pegasus, Cargo de Nuit, Moris, Medina Azahara, Angeles del hell, Red Baron, Banzai, Panzer, Asphalt, Mediterranean and Mole. and also to perform a series of concerts on the Peninsula with Moris, Topo and Ñu.

However, the training would not last much longer and would end up dissolving shortly before recording what could have been his second job with Chapa. Ritchie would finish shortly after being a solo singer of the band Asfalto.
