About

Filthy Rich emerged from the breakbeat hotbed of Orlando, Florida in the early 2000s and quickly made a name for himself on both sides of the Atlantic. Known for his relentless energy behind the decks and gritty, floor-shaking productions, he spent years tearing up clubs across North America—holding down residencies at venues like Icon, La Vela, and Cairo, and earning a reputation as a DJ who always delivered.

But Rich wasn’t just a performer—he was a prolific studio collaborator. Alongside longtime production partner Dave London, he released a string of underground breakbeat records that helped define the early 2000s American breaks scene.

🔊 Notable Releases with Dave London:
Ghetto Blaster / The Funker (777 Productions, Acetate, 12", 2000)

Bomb Ass Breaks Volume 1 (BAB 001, 12", Bomb Ass Breaks, 2001)

Bomb Ass Breaks Volume 2 (BAB 002, 12", Bomb Ass Breaks, 2001)

Twisted (DP 97/1, 12", Distinct'ive Breaks, 2002) — featuring remixes by Future Funk Squad and later appearing on the iconic Y4K compilation

“Twisted,” released on November 4, 2002, marked a turning point—it earned them a multi-record deal with Distinct’ive Breaks, making them the first North American breakbeat act ever signed to the UK label, home to genre titans like Hybrid and Way Out West.

Their remixes gained attention beyond the underground, including an unofficial remix of Ascension’s “Someone” that was hand-delivered to Paul Oakenfold, who personally called Rich to praise it—before playing it live from New York City on MTV, for millions of viewers.

Beyond the vinyl, Filthy Rich and Dave London’s work led to touring across the U.S., Canada, and Spain, and remix opportunities with artists like Deep Dish. Rich also began work on a DJ compilation titled “Sleazy Listening” for Funk Wax Records, capturing the raw, low-slung vibe of his signature DJ sets.

Filthy Rich lives for the beats—his pulse set to 138 BPM. Whether it’s Nu Skool breaks, funky rollers, or filthy house with attitude, his legacy lives on through the records, the remixes, and the movement he helped shape.

Two decades deep—and still dirty.
