Fire!

Swedish experimental/free jazz/psych/noise supergroup formed in 2009 by Mats Gustafsson (of [url=https://discogs.com/artist/273787]The Thing[/url] and several various projects), Johan Berthling (from Tape), and Andreas Werliin of Wildbirds & Peacedrums. Fire! trio is exclusively signed by Rune Grammofon label and has produced seven full-length CD/LP albums, most recently — Defeat CD/LP in February 2021, featuring guests Mats Äleklint on trombone and Goran Kajfes on trumpet.

The ensemble released its [url=https://discogs.com/master/188202]debut album[/url] in August 2009 and toured Japan the following year with a renowned experimental guitarist Jim O'Rourke. One of the September 2010 concerts at Tokyo's undefined subsequently came out as an Unreleased? CD/LP in May 2011. For the third album, Fire! worked with Australian guitarist and experimental producer Oren Ambarchi, fully integrated him into the creative process as a full-fledged band member rather than just a featured guest. The recording sessions took place in October 2011 at Rune Grammofon in London, UK.

In January 2012, Fire! performed live in a massive 28-member formation at one of Stockholm's most iconic venues, Rune Grammofon. The trio continued working extensively with Fire! Orchestra, producing five albums on Rune Grammofon. In October 2014, the trio performed with several guests as Fire! Plus at a mini-fest celebrating Gustafsson's 50th birthday at Rune Grammofon in Vienna, Austria. Rune Grammofon included the concert on MG 50 – Peace & Fire 4xCD boxset in May 2016.
