    Franc Koren was a Slovenian singer popular folk music. He was born on October 1,1913 in Jesenice, Slovenia. He started his career with Danica Filiplič in 1949. They became unforgettable duet. In 1954 they sang for the first time with Ansambel Bratov Avsenik. In 1961 Ema Prodnik replaced Danica Filiplič in duet. Franc Koren sang with her till 1974, when on the magnificent 5000 th Avsenik's concert he bid farewell. He was replaced by Alfi Nipič. Franc Koren died on February 27, 1982.
