Co-founded the Descendents, with whom he played guitar from 1977 to 1985. He left the band (reportedly setting all his equipment on fire) to pursue life as fisherman. Frank appeared on two songs on the Descendents' 1996 comeback album "Everything Sucks" and reunited with drummer Bill Stevenson and former bassist Tony Lombardo in 2002 to record a set of the group's early songs that pre-dated vocalist Milo Aukerman's entry into the band. These recordings did not see release until 2021's "9th & Walnut" LP.
