Founded in 1981 in West Berlin by [a2627578] (Michael Wahler), Tom Suurbier (Thomas Mindach) and Hans Suurbier (Hans Runge).
Shortly before their first recordings for the sampler [m760089] at the end of 1982, Tom Suurbier left the band and was temporarily replaced by Dirk Geröllheimer (Dirk Felsenheimer), who was replaced by Grandmaster Suurbier (Wolfgang Rohde) in the spring of 1983.
In December 1983, Frau Suurbier won second prize in the Berlin Senate's annual "Berlin Rock News" competition.
In 1984 Hans Suurbier left the band to focus on his other band Die Ärzte. His successor was Stink McSuurbier (Thomas Baumgarte).
In the same year, the band renamed themselves Die Suurbiers. For the bands history after 1984 please see Die Suurbiers.
