Fred Davis

American music industry legal representative and investment banker. Son of Clive Davis.

His first industry job came while still at Tufts University in Boston, where he worked as Arista’s New England college rep, promoting The Grateful Dead, Patti Smith and Barry Manilow.
After graduating from Fordham University School of Law in 1985, Davis joined EMI Records, rising to Executive Vice President.
In 1994, Davis left EMI Records to found his own law firm, which became the entertainment and new-media law firm of Davis Shapiro & Lewit, LLP in 1997.
In 2010, Davis left his law firm to co-found CODE Advisors, where he worked with clients such as Comcast, Twitter, Spotify, Supercell, Shazam and Buddy Media.
In 2014, Davis moved to merchant bank The Raine Group, whose clients have included Warner Music, SoundCloud, Downtown Music Holdings, BenevolentAI, Moonbug, Hitco, and CD Baby.
