    Friendly Dorx

Punk band from Granby, Québec, Canada. Formed around 1997. From their official website: "It all started in 1997 when the group was a trio made up of Frank, Guillaume and Alex. They had a few compositions, but they mainly played covers. Not long after, in 1998, Mike joined the group having no bass or band experience. The first show took place at an after-ball at the JH Leclerc high school in June 1998. The show was in a field and the groups played in a hay trailer! Subsequently, the group is dispersed following the move of Mike and Frank, who were going to study outside the city. Given that Quebec City and Lac-Mégantic are respectively 2h30 and 2h drive from Granby, practices were rare, and the group's motivation was a result. Six months passed, and the group had only practiced once. Friends of the group decided to organize a Christmas show. The guys in the group, at that time, had somewhat given up on the idea of continuing. So, around a hundred people showed up to see the group's 2nd show . The atmosphere was so good that the group decided to continue the activities and try to do more practice. In June 1999, the band recorded their first 4-song demo titled Hooked-up . After the release, the group performed in shows in the Granby and Montreal region. In May 2000, the group returned to the studio once again to record their first full album, Far away in my thoughts. The band wanted to be part of a label so they could concentrate solely on the music and compose as much as possible. Shortly after the release of the record, the dorx had a show with Adhesive in Dolbeau, region of keep from freezing records , their label. Due to certain internal problems and the fact that the label was located more than 400 km from the group, Friendly DorX then decided to leave keep from freezing records and continue independently." Line-up: Guillaume Lemieux - Vocals Olivier Poulin - Guitar Michael Da Prato - Bass Frank Ouellette - Drums
