French hard rock band from Rouen (Normandy). The band was formed in the early 80's. At that time, every member was in several bands (For example, the singer, José Bouttard, was at the same time in Vermines under the nickname "White Spirit"). Foetus split up after 3 ou 4 years because, at that time, it was difficult for a french hard rock / metal band to find a french label that believed in metal. Moreover, some of members had more success with another band.
After (or in parallel with) Foetus :
- José Bouttard continued his carrer as singer in "Ovation", "Vermines" (1981 - 1984), "Smallpox" (1988 - ?) and "The Milfs" (formed in mid-2010's with same members as Smallpox, still active).
- Hervé Magot formed his own band, Mister Magot, with Yves Durieu. Hervé and Yves also played with Franky Chambertin on the 7'' [r14513608].
- Yves Durieu has a prolific drums carreer since the 80's, playing with several bands on several releases (Some are referenced on Discogs but not all because it is often local bands). He took part in the reformation of "Mister Moonlight" in mid-2000's. He died in 2023.
- Régis seems to have stopped music and pursued a commercial career.
- No informations found or known about Dominique Van Sever.
Last known line-up for that band was :
José Bouttard [Vocals]
Régis Bretteville [Bass]
Hervé Magot [Guitar]
Dominique Van Sever [Guitar]
Yves Durieu [Drums]
