About

Scottish from Edinburgh, G.F. Fitz-Gerald is a guitarist/singer/songwriter. In 1965 he move to London where he starts doing session work. In 1967 he formed Mouseproof who opened such names as Pink Floyd and Soft Machine. In 1969 they were joined by saxophonist/flautist Geoff Leigh and the bassist Rik Kenton. Chris Blackwell (Island's boss) offered him the chance to make his own album, but Fitz-Gerald received a better offer from MCA. The album was issued in November 1970 and featured Leigh, Kenton and the new members Ian Andrews (keyboards) and Tony Turnbull (drums) as well as guest as Lemmy, Sam Gopal, B.J.Cole (Cochise) and Judy Dyble (Fairport Convention). Altough the album failed to sell, Fitz-Gerald menaged to establishing himself on the avant-rock scene. He played with Lol Coxhill and Gong, teaming up again with Geoff Leigh after Leigh left Henry Cow in 1973.
